Sci-Bono Discovery Centre undergoes expansion

Phase three of the expansion, which will overlook the Newtown Park, will house a career centre, restaurant and underground parking. This expansion further stems Sci-Bono as the largest science centre in Africa and puts it on par with other science centres world wide.

The main centre remains open from Monday till Sunday and visitors can come in during the normal visiting hours. Tours can be booked as usual and all the other programmes are running as scheduled

Since its inception in 2004 Sci-Bono has shown a considerable growth in visitor numbers, with a 95, 50% increase for 2008 in comparison to 2007. The centre provides an accessible teaching and learning environment which includes "hands-on" exhibits, science stage shows and innovative workshops that demonstrate a variety of scientific and mathematical concepts.
